When upgrading your base, or crafting items at the Pal Gear Workbench, you’ll need leather, and lot of it.
Leather drops from certain mobs when you kill/capture them, or it can be bought from Wandering Merchants for 150 gold.
This quick guide shows you a handful of ways to get leather quickly.
How To Get Leather in Palworld
Wandering Merchants
You can buy leather from Wandering Merchants that show up randomly around the map, or you can go to the one stationed at “Small Settlements” northwest of Plateau of Beginnings.
What’s great about that spot is that once you discover it, you can fast travel there any time, there’s a portal right at the vendor.
Before you go, make sure you have your gold with you.
Once you find the settlement, you’ll find this Santaclause lookinah Wandering Merchant in one of the buildings.
Talk to him and he’ll open up this menu where you can buy leather, and a whole lot of other items likes Bones, Horns, Medicines, etc.
What Pals Drop Leather?
You can find out which creatures drop leather by looking at your Paldeck, but in my experience, the easiest to farm are Pals from the starter zones, namely:
- Foxparks
- Fuacks
- Vixys
- Rushoars
- Melpacas
- Eikthyrdeer
Once you’re a little higher level, you can also get some from the Mammorests, which give you Mammorest Meat and High Quality Pal Oils too.
Best Area To Grind Leather
My favorite area to grind leather is definitely the area around Desolate Church.
Not only is it a fun area to fly around, it’s full of Rushoars, Vixys and other critters that drop 2 leather each. This area is also full of Mushrooms, Wheat, and at night, rare creatures.
