Texas Barbeque Meets Egyptian Fusion in Austins Best BBQ Food Truck

KG BBQ is a food truck that offers a unique blend of Egyptian and Texas barbecue.

Pitmaster and owner Kareem El-Ghayesh has created a menu that combines traditional Central Texas barbecue with flavors from his home country.

The result is a fusion of two cultures that is both delicious and innovative.

KG BBQ

KG BBQ is located at 3108 Manor Rd, Austin, TX 78723 and is open Thursday through Saturday from 11am to 8pm or until sold out, and Sunday from 11am to 5pm or until sold out.

The food truck has a limited amount of outdoor seating with picnic tables available.

Meats

KG BBQ offers a variety of meats, including brisket, pork ribs, lamb chops, and lamb-bacon ribs. The brisket is exceptional and holds its own against other offerings in town.

The pork ribs are dry-rubbed with a blend of Egyptian spices, including coriander, fenugreek, and oregano, and glazed with pomegranate molasses, making them a unique and delicious option.

The lamb chops are small but flavorful and available in a half or full rack or as a single.

The lamb-bacon ribs are smoked lamb belly that are essentially ribless ribs.

They are tender with the perfect top layer of fat.

The sumac-and-cinnamon-rubbed lamb shoulder is simple yet delicious and is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from tender pot roast.

Sides

KG BBQ offers a variety of sides, including Mediterranean rice, pink buttermilk potato salad, and beet puree.

The Mediterranean rice is turmeric-yellow, moist, and topped with cinnamon-candied nuts and pomegranate seeds.

The pink buttermilk potato salad is tinged bright pink from roasted beet puree and is a lighter complement to the heaviness of most of the rest of the menu.

Bread Pudding

The bread pudding at KG BBQ is a must-try.

Cooked right there at the time of ordering, this dessert is piping hot and fall-apart creamy.

Shawarma Pita Wraps

KG BBQ also offers shawarma pita wraps, which are available with chicken.

The condiment concoction of tahini, onions, and sauce makes this a next-level sandwich.

Reviews

KG BBQ has received positive reviews for its innovative fusion of Egyptian and Texas barbecue.

Customers have praised the quality of the meats and the unique flavors of the sides.

The food truck can be a bit pricey, but customers agree that it is worth the money.

KG BBQ is a must-try for anyone looking for a unique twist on traditional Texas barbecue.

The fusion of Egyptian and Texas flavors is both delicious and innovative, making it a standout among other barbecue options in town.
